I have a new 2009 Ventana and when I filled it with fresh water today for the first time, I noticed that the demand water pump ran the entire time I was filling it. When I switched the valve to city water, the pump went off. After filling, the pump went off and the faucets all worked OK and the demand pump turned on only when a faucet was open. Is it normal for the demand water pump to run when filling the fresh water tank? Thanks.

That is normal, but not desired, so you should turn the pump off when filling the fresh water tank.

Glad to hear it's normal, since my old MH didn't do it that way. I tried to turn off the water pump, but it would not turn off -- regardless of the switch position -- seems a little strange..........

Hi Saber77,
I think you have at least 3 water pump power switches, maybe more. Only one switch needs to be on for the pump to work. However, all the water pump switches must be in the off position for the pump to be off. Generic switch locations are:
1. utility bay
2. bathroom
3. main control panel by the tank monitors.

You can only turn the pump off from the switch that was used to turn it on unless you have the Monoplex system where any switch can turn the pump on and any other switch can turn it off.

My 08 Ventana does not have the monoplex system so all three switches (Kitchen Sink, Bathroom, and Utility Bay) have to be off! Any one of them in the on position will cause the pump to run.

That's the way my 2009 Ventana is, too. All must be off or the pump will run.
