Fresh Water Pump

I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out why my water pump won't shut off when all water facets are turned off. When coach is not connected to a water source at CG. I turn on Water pump switch and I get water pressure/flow at all facets When I shut off facets the water pump still stays on and its does not build shut off pressure. I've checked for leaks and valves open or valves letting water circulate. I can't find anything wrong. What am I missing. If someone can shed some light on this I would greatly won't appreciate it.

You don't say what brand of pump you have. If it is a shurflo or seaflo there is a small screw or an allen headed set screw on the end at the pressure shut off switch. It could be that it needs to be adjusted. Turning clockwise increases the pressure that will shut off the pump. ( CCW will lower the cutoff pressure ).

Also, do you have a valve that can be used to fill the water tank from city water? If it is open, even with no city water hook-up, it could be using your pump to to fill the tank from the tank.

Hi ARFFMAN,
1982 has the answer. There is a valve in the wet bay. Turn it to fill the water tank turn it 1/4 turn clockwise to flow water to the coach. If the valve is turned to fill the tank, the symptom you mentioned will happen.

Make sure that your winterization valve is closed, so that the pump pulls water from the tank instead of the hose for the antifreeze. I've starred in this movie!

Thanks,

Stu

Valve is closed, hopefully pump just needs adjusting

My advice, go buy a new pump before you loose a blood vessel. I went through the same issue on my old Dutchstar the day before I was to deliver it to the new owner.

The OEM pump had a variable pressure sensor that controlled the pump according to demand. That part of the pump was obsolete so,
Replaced the pump and moved on but I played with it for two days prior.

I had exact issue a month ago. Mine ended up being air in water lines. I ran coach water (water outlet in generator compartment) for 10 min, then shut off and all went back to normal & Iíve had no issues since.

Are all the valves from fresh water tank open to pump, believe handle for valve should be in line with the plumbing pipe.
