My fresh water tank keeps filling when I am on city water. The valve is closed, by you can hear water slowly entering the fresh water tank. It takes about 5/6 hours to fill the tank and water to stay coming out the overflow valve.
If I disconnect the city water, the water pump cycles every 2/3 seconds. I have to turn off all 3 water pump switches for it to stop cycling.
I assume its the fresh water fill valve. Does my 06 Newmar Dutch Star 4320 have one or two fresh water holding tanks.
How hard is it to replace the valve. It looks like you have to remove the panel to access the system/vale.

A couple of threads for you.
#1 Water Pump
#2 White knob wouldn't turn completely ---check post #6
Here's something else you may want to know.
If you have just the long black knob that lever should be straight up for city water use and turn left to fill fresh water tank.
All pump switch's off.
On my 03 coach I have two tanks interconnected with a 1/14" pipe.
They are mounted both sides of chassis rails.
You may have only one tank between chassis rails.

Mine does exactly the same thing, except no water pump cycling. If I'm connected to city water supply and the flow valves are positioned correctly it slowly fills the fresh water holding tank and eventually fills entirely and runs out the overflow. I figured it must be leaking past the city water valve somehow.

One thing that people over look when winterizing is a horizontal pipe behind water display board that does not fill with Anti-freeze when you pump Anti into water system.
Only way to fill with Anti is push the plunger back that you see when you take the filter screen out of hose fitting. When you do this keep your face away or your going to get doused.
If water is left in there and no Anti the water will freeze back into your water divert valve, city & fresh, possibly causing a problem with fill valve.
You have to look down under display to see pipe.

I had the same problem. Try removing the plastic handle and use pliers to turn the valve.

On my 06 DSDP I have only 1 tank and I do not have the water fill problem that you listed.

Your 2006 Dutch Star has one fresh water tank and it holds 105 gallons. It appears your fill valve is not shutting off the water flow completely. I had a problem on a Dutch Star that required me to remove the panel to get to plumbing behind it and it took about one hour to remove the panel, 30 minutes to fix the problem, and one hour to reinstall the panel.

When my 2007 KSDP had this problem it was the tank full valve leaking. I just replaced it with a valve with PEX fittings from my local hardware store. (It is easy if you are a contortionist.) The OEM valve that failed was made in Italy and after it was off, I found that when it was rotated from tank fill to non-tank fill it moved slightly past the shut-off position and created a slight leak.
Have a nice day - Darrel
