Hi there. We have a 2007 Newmar Canyon Star and unfortunately the intake valve to the fresh water tank was leaking which caused our tank to continually fill up and overflow. Had the valve replaced under warrenty, but it still continues to leak into the tank when valve is turned off. Going to get it looked at again. Anyone else have this poblem. Bad luck with the valve or could it be something else?

Hi there Moving On 45 welcome to the Newmar Forum and irv2.
Haven't had your problem in 4 coachs, would say its the valve if you can see it behind panel put your mark on it to see if its replaced again.
Maybe someone has had your problem. As long as the valve is closed all the way your water pump should work when your traveling if not it would have to be that valve.
Enjoy the forum and do post often.

Moving On 45, welcome to iRV2.com and the Newmar Owners forum. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy this website, so come back often and keep us posted.
You could have a problem with the pump. It normally would act as a check valve and not let any water from the pressurized side back feed and fill the tank. It the valve is good have them check and/or replace the pump. Good luck and let us know what they find.

Probably not your issue but the handle on my diverter valve was striped and not properly changing the valves position from pump to tank fill. I replaced the plastic handle with the handle off a $6 Home Depot valve that had the correct shape valve stem. Just something to check. Bob

I also had this problem on my 2007 Kountry Star. I found a replacement valvve at my local hardware store and replaced it myself. After I had the old valve in hand I noticed that if it was turned all the way off it leaked. If it was backed off a little it seemed to seal.
(replacement was easy except for the location behind the panel.)
Have a nice day - Darrel

Moving On 45, did you ever solve your problem? I know this is an old thread but I'm having the same problem now also. When the diverter valve is in the position to supple city water to the coach, some will make it's way to the fresh water tank. Over a couple of days it will amount to a quarter of a tank. Reading this thread, the valve or pump is suspect.

Floridaguy, I would say its your valve if you do not hear pump operate in city water position.

I just had to replace the handles on two valves - fresh water tank drain valve and fresh water fill diverter valve. Stripped out. Had the work done during a regular maintenance appointment at Midway Motor Homes in Grand Rapids MI. Have not had the problem of water leaking through the diverter valve into the fresh water tank. If I tag up to real high pressure city water my tank fills up .You might need a pressure reducing valve. It worked for me, plus if it is too high it shoves too much water thru the Hydro-hot. Hot water won't keep up.
