Fresh water tank level detectors

So if you were to take it out it would resemble an L-shape. With ours mounted downward on an angle, they actually read pretty accurately. Again they are nothing more than reference points so you don't have to open the bay door to see how much water you have.

You are right, I hadn't noticed the section going across at the top. Now I think the tech just reinstalled the bottom sensor two high so I'll probably relocate it lower along a diagonal line with the other two.

Thanks!

here are my sensor placement. I know it is a different manufacturer but I ask this same question as I believed that my tank was half full and showed empty. When I went to the factory this was on my list. The technicians showed me the full tank layout and configuration. Half the tank is elongated under the floor. So they said the placement was correct for the sensors. They know a significant amount of water is in the tank even when the sensor says empty(approximately 30 gal). It was designed as a information level, unlike the black and grey where over flow can be critical. the water tank will never overflow from use. It is clear and accessible from outside so you can visually see water in it. I usually fill mine till I see the level right at my lower sensor and I know I have plenty of water for travel till I get to my destination. My tank is 100GAL and that is a lot of weight to carry. Unless I was boondocking I would never fill it or even half full. I have seen many post that they only fill their fresh water completely full very close to their boondock location so they don't carry all that weight. I think that is a pretty standard process for most manufacturers on the fresh water tank. Of course your higher end coaches have much different sensors, I am only basing my experience on the mid range and gas coaches.

Fresh water tank level detectors

Reading the install manual, sensors have minimum separation required distance of 15" which is why I think my lower one is too high and close to the middle one. That is probably why they are mounted diagonally, to prevent interference from the adjacent sensor's "field effect". http://levelguardproducts.com/sump/F...l_Overview.php

Oops, you are right! Must be limited by cable length then.
