Fridge Fixer

I originally bought the Fridge Fixer because a stroke left my wife with reduced hand strength such that she could not secure/unsecure the fridge with the standard device provided with the coach.

We HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone with arthritis or other hand strength issues. (We have no connection to this company other than being customers).

https://www.recubed.solutions/

PS: Frankly, the FF is so much better than the original fridge lock, I’d buy it even if my wife didn’t need it.

For $39.99 + $4.50 s/h, it should be gold plated!

That’s because it’s made in USA NOT China and there is not 1,000,000 of them being sold. We all have gotten our sense of costs warped by seeing cheap Chinese imports so prevalent these days, however we are paying the price as all our manufacturing jobs have left the country!

Everyone should support small business in the USA !

Simple effective design

And if one has difficulties gripping/strength etc it is WELL worth the cost

$40

How much do you spend on a 'dinner' ...been to a movie lately?
Carton of cigs
How about couple bottles of wine

$40 ....not a deal breaker

"AzGoldDigger".....Nice find. We just visited some friends with a new Winnebago Journey DP. There residential refer didn't come with any sort of lock. I just texted them with this model.

I found the one Newmar uses is okay, but needs constant attention, both cleaning and lubing to keep it working freely.

If your handy it looks like you could make one out of wood. Maybe from some scrapes laying around and save the $40+ dollars.

The only problem with the OEM slide lock on our Whirlpool (French door - 3 door) frig was it was not tight enough to stay locked. I simply opened all three doors, slid the lock out to the right. I drilled a 1/4" hold into the back leaving the edge of the hole a little rough. Slid the lock back in and now it fits snug and doesn't easily slid back and forth.

The whole fix took about a minute and cost $0.00.

The problem with ours was that it was very hard to move. Wife could not lock or unlock it. Was not easy for me either. As others have said, when you find something that makes life easier, it provides value and is worth the cost. I’m very glad I am no longer the fridge technician [emoji16]

An even easier fix for this lock is to use a pair of channel lock plyers to squeeze the slide channel slightly closed. 30 second fix.

That's an additional $100. Brass will be cheaper.

Seriously, this is a product designed by RVers for RVers, and likely built by RVers. It appears they handle their business from the road, including order fulfillment. It's possible they build some models to order.

Not everything in life can be reduced to a monetary value.

edit ps: I find it ironic that someone would complain about $40 in the Newmar forum.

Have the "Sammy-18" Just ordered this.. will see if it is strong enough to keep the freezer drawer closed when freezer is loaded up, if not, will go back to using the commercial Velcro for the freezer and a rubber spoon for the french doors..

Hell...You think they are tight fisted... you should hang out on the Newell, Prevost or Foretravel forums...

Love the Fridge Fixer! The guy who makes them is Carl, an RVer, he's chief, cook & bottle washer, no others helping him. The first Fridge Fixers were wood, now they're plastic & made with a 3D printer... He's always trying to perfect his design, mostly from feedback from customers. These refrigerators are not cheap, $1200-$2400...$40 to protect my fridge from scratches & dents is money will spent... Amazes me when people use bungee cords, broomsticks & things that take 4ever to unlock & re-secure. Loved the "Newmar" irony!

I didn't even think to try that. If my "hole fix" doesn't keep working I will certainly work on adjusting the slide channel.

I am always interested in new RV products, especially one that would protect my frig and keep the contents from flying out onto the tile floor while making a turn. However, the original frig lock will work just great if it is adjusted in that channel correctly IMHO.
