My overhead door retainer has lost alot of the ability to keep the door open...I think I remember that there is some sort of snap ring or spring that fits near that flat top pin for a tighter fit.....any suggestions for an easy fix???

Search these forums.... Many, many fixes/alternatives have previously been posted....

The spring clip is not available as a separate item anymore, it comes with the entire arm assembly now.

One thread is here:

Keep us updated on what PTL says... Historically, PTL has been a great company, especially in providing the easily damaged door wedge block for a fraction of what the moho dealers charge. Hopefully they will re-offer just the spring clip.

I spoke with them and got some good and bad info...they now make a better spring retainer but it's not likely to fit my older arm due to dimension changes...but they could try to rivet it with their special machine to my old arm....about a $30 repair IF it works....the other plan is to get a new arm assy with the heavier spring clip for only $70, instead of the approx triple markup Newmar charges...I will probably try the nylon nut or zip tie fix first and if that doesnt work, just get the new arm for $70...fair enough!
