Has anyone attempted to clean or have cleaned the front curtain? (pleated accordian style) If so, what method did you use either cleaning yourself or by having it cleaned? Can't seem to find any information in the literature on it.

This hasn't come up in awhile, but I believe some folks have had good luck with Oxy Clean.

Hi Steve,
Can't comment on cleaning it but I can comment on trimming it to fit the ups and downs of the dash board.
Mine looked terrible because it was all wadded up and wrinkled. We opened it to the privacy position-- centered, and layed out pencil lines to follow the curves and with a new, sharp sissors we cut just above the pencil lines. It fits perfectly now and looks 1000 times better. Our friends with an '04 Dutch Star did the same thing. No strings, unraveling, etc.
I might try the oxy-clean bit also, but since all the wrinkles are gone I haven't noticed any soiled spots
Good luck,

Hi Steve,
I did what Max posted. My curtain looked bad only where it dragged on the bottom. Once I cut the curtain to be the correct length, when closed, the soiled areas were cut away and the curtain has remained clean.

I cleaned ours in the washer machine and then put it in the dryer. I was going to replace it since I thought it was a dry clean only. So I went to CW and looked at a new one. As I was reading info off the box it said it was machine washable. Biggest job was removing and replacing all the hanging hooks. It came out just fine.

Thanks All,
I'll have to pass this info on to the wife. Your right though that it only looks bad (soiled) on the bottom where it drags along the dash. We'll have to look a cutting it to fit.

We sent ours to the cleaners - it came back looking nice, but with a little less body than it had before. That route is expensive, though, $50 each side - $100 total, and you have to sign a waiver that if it comes apart in cleaning - too bad.
