Front TV to sound bar mod

I was looking for a way to improve the sound quality of the front TV in my 4018 Dutch Star. The TV is a Sony and the speakers are located on the bottom so the sound travels downward not out. The TV has a 3.5mm headphone jack which outputs the audio. After a little research I realized the Bose Solo 5 sound bar connected to the televator TV is equipped with bluetooth audio. Plugging a bluetooth transmitter into the front TV headphone jack and pairing that with the Bose sound bar produces high quality sound just like the televator TV. I also connected a USB charge cord from the Sony TV USB jack to the bluetooth transmitter to charge it. Finally a couple of adjustments on my Harmony 650 remote activates the sound bar and selects the bluetooth input when turning on the front TV. There is a slight lip sync issue when using the bluetooth but the sound quality more than makes up for it. I have tried two bluetooth transmitters and settled on this one which seems to have the least sync delay.

If you can't reach the TV outputs a mechanical claw can be used to plug the connectors in. The connections on my TV were located on the drivers side rear mid level.

This same transmitter can also be used from a source like your dash audio paired with your outside Bose sound bar if your rig does not have that option installed.

I’ve heard of the sync issue. Isn’t there an option to adjust this on the Bose?

There is no adjustment for BT Delay on the BOSE...or any other audio unit, for that matter.

If you think about it, it would be impossible to adjust a delay in a speaker since IT is the one that is running behind due to the lag of Bluetooth.

Such a sync-adjustment, of three was one, would have to be at the source of the VIDEO.

Your tv should have an optical out to the sound bar as standard equipment.

Nice method to get the front TV connected to the big TV sound bar, wirelessly.

FYI, there a bit of a trick, work around, if you will.

Since the SOURCE that is feeding the Front TV is also the same as the Main, you can actually the Main TV as your audio source to feed the BOSE, while watching video on the front. It works; I do it often.

This would avoid the hassle of a remote BT transmitter along with the associated audio lag.

Right you are. My Samsung tv has the delay adjustment in the audio setup.
Perhaps that can help OP?
