Question Full wall slide not closing all the way

My FWS is not closing all the way in the front. It gets to about 1/2 - 3/4" gap and I have to try and push it to 1/4". What could be causing this to happen?

They're could be a few reasons. Have you checked under the slide, from inside, to make sure nothing got under it.

You make have jumped a tooth on the gear.

The trans torque bushing may have slipped and needs adjustment.

Lastly, I never have had to do it, but your motors may need to be synchronized. Here is a link with the information (Post #3).

I share your angst!

We just got our VTDP back from the shop after, what sounds like, the very same issue. It was determined that the controller (an electronic circuit board in the basement), got out of sync. The best explanation theory for the cause of this failure that I heard was that I attempted to bring in the slide while my battery bank was in a low state of charge. The coach had been left in storage for too long without shore power and the batteries partially drained. The advice I received was that with the batteries low - I should have started the generator or connected to shore power before attempting to operate the slide.

The techs recalibrated/reset the slide controller. I paid $250. The slide is back to normal. I am poorer but wiser.

This is actually easy to fix by reprogramming the dsc100. Here is a document on this.

About the middle of the fws in the bays. It is attached to the ceiling of the bay, with a black plastic shroud covering it.

Found another trick

I was talking to a RV shop in Fairbanks and the guy told me to try bringing the slide in and out fully 3 times and it may re-sync it. Well sure enough it now comes in all the way except for 1/16th of an inch!

As been said you can reprogram to adjust the slide closing flush on a 2015 back to 2013.
All FWS info is covered in this link both the old Newmar and the newer HWH slide.
