Full Wall Slide not fully closing

While bringinging in our FWS, the front top trim strip jammed in the opening tight enough to shear the mounting screws, the slide jammed, and there was a "pop" from the front drive motor area below. We ran the slide back out, leveled the coach with the jacks and ran it in again. It did not bind as much this time, but would not come far enough in to let the locking device at the top of the slide "lock". The locking mechanism is about 1" away from the wall. We had not noticed how much off level the site was. I believe the "pop" may have been the clutch on the slide mechanism "slipping". That I believe has the slide stopping on the adjustment bolts at the rear of the slide, but not coming in to touch them at the front.

After hearing the pop, while the slide was "jammed" but not quite closed, we noticed that the exterior slide trim strip would have overlaped the slide opening by about 1/2" at the drivers side front top corner if we had been able to close the slide fully.

Also, the slide topper locking arms do not "latch" at either the front or rear. They are about 1/6 of a revolution from latching.

As this happened while away from home base, we taped the topper securely to prevent wind getting into it at the front, taped the whole height of the front slide gap, and drove the unit home. We have run the slide in and out only twice since this happened, but that has not changed the approximately 1" projection of the slide at the front opening. Any suggestions on whether this can be adjusted by an untrained owner by either adjusting the motor drive electrics or by releasing the 1 1/2" nut on the slide drive shaft, pushing the slide into a fully closed position by hand, and re-tightening the nut on the slide drive shaft?

Also, is it likely that the topper latch arms will fit properly into the latches once we re-position the slide? Thanks for any guidance from those with experience.

I'm guessing the popping noise was that you jumped a tooth on the front gear and now it's out of sync.

My 2014 DSDP has gone out of adjustment a couple of times and it was quite an easy fix. I think that I have posted the fix in the quick mods area. If yu cannot find it send me an email and I will forward it to you.

I doubt it jumped a tooth, more likely the bang was just a torque bushing. Providing you correct whatever was binding it prior, the soft limits can probably be adjusted to square everything up.
