Any idea where the fuse would be for the battery feed to the dash radio? This is the yellow lead, not the red ignition switched feed. I looked in the driver's side front compartment, but none of the ones that were labeled anything close were blown. Maybe it's an unlabeled one, or it's somewhere else.

King Aire on a K3 chassis.

Thanks!

joe

Hi Joe,
I do not know a King Air coach. However, sometimes Newmar does things the same way on all coaches. Try looking in the shore power cord compartment. In my coach, there is a 12 VDC fuse bank behind a cover held on with Velcro. There are several 12 VDC fuses located there.

Don't see anything like that in my shore power compartment. There is on panel back there, but it's secured with real screws, and I think has the AC distribution block.

I went through every fuse in the forward compartment, and didn't find any bad ones. Now I'm thinking it's either at the battery, or an in-line somewhere in the rat's nest of fuses under the dash. :(

Hi Joe,
Like you I am not thrilled about the rats nest behind the dash. Before you go there, consider removing the panel mentioned in your post. Next, call Newmar. They should know where the fuse is located. Unfortunately, there could be an in-line fuse in the rats nest.

Hmm. Yeah, I guess I can take that panel off. Getting to a couple of the screws might be tricky.

Calling Newmar is on my list for tomorrow. Going to see if I can talk them out of a wiring diagram while I'm at it. I have the complete service manual from Spartan, but not the Newmar stuff.

One of the things that really bugs me about the rats nest in the dash compartments is all the wires that aren't connected to anything. :( And I'm making it worse by removing some of the original components, but I can't get the connecting cables out without a whole lot more work than I want to do.

You're the man. There were another 10-12 fuses behind there, and it was one of them. The BIRD was also back there, and a couple of other big relays.

Now to hook up the GPS antenna and the BT microphone, and button it back up.

Thanks!

Thanks for the update. I'm glad the information lead you to find the fuse.
