We appear to have blow the fuse for the circuit that controls the front and driver's side privacy curtains. Or we blew the E-plex relay that controls them.

Any idea where the fuse for that circuit is? Or how to test if it's the E-plex relay?

Passenger side is fine.

Hi Joe,
While I do not have a KADP, Newmar is pretty consistent on where they put fuse buses. There are three potential places for you to check. In order of priority they are:
1. Near the 120 VAC circuit breaker panel inside the coach.
2. In the outside electrical bay there is usually a 12 VDC fuse panel located in a compartment along the back wall. A panel must be removed to access these fuses.
3. In the outside front left bay. This would be the place if the circuit is considered an automotive circuit. Number 1 and 2 are 12 VDC coach fuse locations.

Yeah, I've checked all three of those locations, and can't find any blown. These are actually controlled by the Eplex system, and I think maybe it's something internal to it. Like a relay. Or it's labeled Eplex and I can't find the right one. :(

Oh, the King Aire is officially the KGDB. KADP is the Kountry Aire, I think.

I'm not going to remember the official KGDB. I'll try to just spell out King Aire. KADP should not be for Kountry Aire. For the current and recent product line, Kountry Aire is a 5th wheel.

Hmm. I originally thought it was KADB, but was corrected by someone on this forum, I think. But now I don't know what the KA was supposed to go with. Oh well.

Oh, and I did find the fuse for the front visors, it was in the left front compartment. I need to put together a permanent patch cord for it, though. The factory wiring has that fuse on an ignition feed, and I want it on a battery feed so it works even when the ignition is off. Actually, there's a number of items in the cockpit that only work when the ignition is on that I'd like to change. Or have them work in the accessory switch position, which (as far as I can tell) is only providing power to the HWH jacks. It's really annoying to get parked, get the jacks down, and then remember you didn't close the driver window. So I get blasted by the jacks-down alarm when I turn the key to the on position to close the window. :(

Glad you found the fuse.

It's like an Easter egg hunt with Newmar fuses.

BTW, Newmar did make a KADP, Kountry Aire Diesel Pusher at one time.

Oh, sorry, that was worded poorly.

I found the fuse for the visors, but I have not found the fuse for the privacy curtains. The visors are considered "chassis", and are in the front left compartment and run off the chassis 12v buss. The privacy curtains are "coach", and run off the eplex system. So I still need to figure out why two of the privacy curtain circuits don't have power.

I have some coach bus fuses and circuit breakers behind a black plastic piece that is held on by velcro in my electrical service/cord bay on by 08 Ventana. May not be applicable to your King Aire, but another place to look.

Yeah, that's the #2 location in GaryKD's post above. I checked it once, but I'll check it again tomorrow. Then I'll be on the phone to Newmar on monday.

Hey, Joe!!: Hi from San Antone. We have same (I think), privacy shades on driver's side and front windshield on our Essex, so PLEASE post a note as to what Nappanee relates to you regarding location of that elusive fuse...OR...eplex config. Would be good to know when/if our shades act up. Thanks.

Say, where you guys at?? Steve & Lynette

We left McKinney, TX yesterday morning. We replaced all our shades with the MCD American Duo shades. We apparently blew a fuse when testing the shades in the cockpit area.

I'd first try to jump 12v direct to the shade at the shade first. It is possible the shade motor (or its feed wiring, or the connectors at the shade) might be the problem and not the fuse or the ePlex controller.
