I seem to spend half my life searching for an elusive switch, lug, circuit and now fuse.

My tow bar connection for lights does not work. It did work, but doesn't now. I suspect I've blow a fuse, but for the life of me I can't seem to find the bugger.

I looked under the front hood, where i assumed it would be, but didn't find a fuse box or anything resembling one.

Is there someone out there familiar with a 38' DSDP 1998 version that can tell me where to fine the missing fuse?

Thanks in advance,

Lou

i have a 98 dsdp and had my towing package added after I bought the rig. not sure if I can help but are you talking about the brake lights for the toad or the parking/running lights that come on in the toad when you turn the coach running/parking/headlights on?

just a guess but if the coach side is ok, headlights and brake lights work..check coach cable plug to see if power is there at pins..if yes than coach side OK and problem is in car side..if no power than try and trace the wires back..could just be a broken wire at the plug or the proverbial bad ground..not sure if helps but at least a start..

I towed a trailer with two motorcycles. When I hook up the trailer to the DSDP tow bar light connector I get no lights on the trailer even if lights are on or off in the RV. However When hooking up the same trailer to my pick-up truck the trailer lights work. So there is little doubt the trouble is that the seven pin connector on the RV is not hot. That's why I believe we blew a fuse. The seven pin connector did work but does not now.

You have two fuses for the rear lights. One set is for the coach itself and the other is for the 7 pin connector. The fuse boxes should be located in one of the rear outside compartments. You will find square black boxes with a removable cover. This is where the fuses you are looking for are located. They are identified and a test light can be used to find any blow fuses easily by probing the top test points (top corners of fuse) on each fuse.

Had similar problems with my car hauler, the fuse box on my '98 DSDP 3865 is on the passenger side next to the last bay witch is the battery bay. Hope this helps.

The other fuse boxes are under the dash in-between the driver/passenger side and above the genset under the front hood. The one in the cabinet above master bed is for your 120/220 AC outlet plugs and other interior power.
