FWS not closing completely fixed

Went to close the FWS to pack up and leave and for the first time, it acted very strange, the pump motor continued to run although it seemed to be closed. Went out and noticed the front edge was hanging out about two inches?????.
Closer inspection revealed that the slide out cover did not toll up as the slide closed and the material got bunched up and did not allow the slide to close flush. Opened the slide and found the roller for the cover was jammed. A little twisting and some lube and itís back in service. Hopefully this is just a fluke issue, but I thought I would post it so if anyone has an issue, they remember to look up and check the slide out cover. Happy trails

Thanks for posting, the roller springs for slide awning can rust up as the big awning will.

Do you have the Girard awning package with the Girard slide toppers? If so, I'm finding the aluminum slats that interlock (attached to the material) does not move freely and I have been lubing the slats on the ends.

How do you lube the slide topper cover rollers? Also, is there an easy way to clean small leaves and debris out of the outer slide topper metal covering?

Yes, I have the Girard package and yes it has a bit of corrosion so, I cleaned it and lubed the end connection, I am also going to lube the slats as you have described
Thanks Don

I don't lube the slats the length of the awning, just both ends.
