The Star chassis was a reinforcement of the chassis frame length wise to support the heavy FWS System nothing more, I'll stand corrected if I am wrong.
As to the support of your FWS extended the jacks will take pressure off your driver side tires and chassis frame supporting items.
Your free to do as you wish, enjoy the winter and safe travels when you do travel.

I think these slides are stronger than you give them credit for.

You could also do a test on a flat level exterior pad and check height with jacks down using auto. Perhaps it would still fit and would lessen your worries in case you hit "auto" by accident 1 day

I wonder if a quick call to customer service would provide an official stance?
The only thing I can think of is that you'll be shifting a lot of weight onto one side of tires and those tires will be holding that weight without rotating.

"Gonna Wander"......You;re not going to hurt anything moving the FWS in and out when needed. Unless you intend on living in the coach during the off months, keep the slide in and move it out when needed. Mine is always in, but when I go out to work on a project, I simply move it out, often just half way.

I was asking about leaving the slide out over the winter, not putting in out and in when needed. It's a mute point now because I see with the air dumped I do have the required height to put the jacks down to stabilize.

Sorry to ask such obvious questions, but my first question is how do you KNOW your coaches height ? from a brochure
I would either measure as accessories on the roof, etc... make a difference.
or get the ladder out and look to see your clearance once in the garage(typically doorways are shorter than roof lines)
I agree manually 'stabilizing' only with the jacks would be the way to go...

Very good point, I don't know the exact height of my coach. I do "know" my garage is between 12.4 and 12.5 depending on where you messuage in the garage. Just from eyeballing I am guessing when aired up our New Aire is about 12.1 or a bit less; which is two inches shorter than the 12.3 the spec says. However, we don't have a satellite dish on the room and that might be the highest point for those that do.
