Yes. We have had one for about 1 1/2 years although we tend to use our iPhones more since we got them.  The garmin works just fine. It senses weather and road conditions and it does keep you off of unfriendly-to-big-rig-roads.
As with most GPS devices, it will be wrong, however, on occasion. It will tell you your destination is on the left side of the road and it is actually on the right.

I've used one for about the same amount of time.
Car vs. Truck feature is nice as I can use it in the toad.
Truck navigation has some problems as many low bridges off the main roads are not included and some roads have truck restrictions that do not apply to RV's.
For example, the GPS goes ballistic when I try to drive on Rt. 31 in NJ because at one time (no longer) it had restrictions on thru-trucks.
