But since it is an oven you do not need it to rotate. We use the shelves and place the 9x13 without a problem.

Sounds like the newer models have some improvements. In convection mode our oven is hotter in the back than the front, resulting in uneven cooking, unless we manually rotate the dish. The 2008 model also didn't come with shelves, so we place the dish on a cookie sheet.

Because of all the discussion on this topic when we were in our Dutch Star ordering process, we ended up ordering the GE Advantium 120 in lieu of the Frigidare and we did it literally two days before our coach went into production. We were not sure of all the particulars that justified our decision -- these are now illumined by this thread -- but we were certainly paying attention to all the chatter about how many people were having problems with the stock Frigidare and, finally, we had enough faith in those who were making the change to take their advice and spend the extra money for the Advantium. It turned out to be a very smart choice.

In our 2011 Ventana 3433, which was an end of season deal with North Trail, we happened to get a loaded, all electric coach and it was spec'd with a GE Profile microwave / convection. I think the Profile is probably what Steve Morrison is talking about on this thread at having obtained for his Dutch Star after replacement of the stock Frigidare unit. The Profile in our Ventana was really terrific too. With the Profile, never had any of the problems that people have complained about in the Frigidare unit (e.g., PDR John, Redbaron) and when it came time to think about changing out the Frigidare on our Dutch Star order for the Advantium 120, it really didn't take a lot of convincing because we knew how good the Profile was on our Ventana.

There is no question that the Advantium we upgraded to in the Dutch Star was a great choice. I think we paid an extra $700-800 it over the Frigidare and I now know from this thread why it was the extra cost it is. The cost was fully justified.

Most definitely worth it. Couldn't be happier.
