I am trying to figure out how to slide my generator out. I know to release these two clamps holding the front in but I am not sure what else to do because it will not slide after I release these clamps.

I found this release and what I would like to know is if this is the release to slide the generator out? The Newmar people stated that there should be a release somewhere. And if this is not the release then what is it?

Thanks
Cathy

Cathy - sometimes the latches don't release completely when you pull the T-handle. So---have someone pull on the T-handle while another person pulls on the front of the coach (the part that slides out). Or you can cut a small sleeve our of rubber hose to fit over the T-handle to hold it out while you pull on the generator.

Hi Cathy&Paula,
After unhooking the two fasteners in the first photo, try pushing in on the front of the coach at the same time pulling the "T" handle. Then, with the "T" handle pulled out, pull on the generator.

More important is the question: Why to you want to slide the generator out?

I would like to know how to slide it out for 3 reasons, first I would like to service it myself if it is not to difficult and second is when I took my mh in for an oil change the mechanic could not figure out how to slide the generator out either and the last reason is I'm just curious and want to know as much about my mh as I can learn.

Thanks for the info
Cathy

That T-handle is the release.. exact same on mine. Sometimes you have to push in on the tray while trying to pull the release, may need 2 people if it hasnt been slid out in awhile. Once you do get it open make sure to use a lithium type lubricating spray on the track rollers and the release/catch mechanism. On mine I have to remove the generator exhaust pipe which is just a slip coupling to slide it all the way out.

Hi Cathy&Paula,
Thanks for the answer. It is good to know there are no problems, that is why I asked.
