Greetings:
I have a generator that starts itself. This is the 2nd time that it has done this and it is usually when I haven't use the coach in a month or so. I know that the DS probably is just wanting to hit the road and trying to tell us something. My wife didn't believe this when I told her but I thought it sounded pretty good!

I've looked thru the owners manual and cannot find anything related to auto starting.
Any ideas why the generator would start on its own and how do I control this?

Dirk
Thanks very much - I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with a ghost. haha!
I will be checking and cleaning the cable tomorrow evening for sure. Thanks for the tip.

That is why I love this forum - the owners communicate a lot more than the dealers and techs concerning issues that are infrequent problems. There is usually someone or two that have had the same or similar experience and has worked out a solution and then there are some like you who remembered where it was posted.
Thank you for that.

Have a nice week!

As usual, there will be no charge for the assistance.

Are you sure you don't have the "auto gen start" option?? After the batts reach a preset low voltage it starts the gen and recharges the batts.
We have this option on our coach.

Hey Dirk, you're giving away my fix for free. Heck, I usually charge a beer or a cup of coffee for correct information.

Even if you do have an autostart on the genny it should not autostart unless you activate the system. An autostart should automatically disengage when you start or stop the coach to prevent accdental starts while refueling, storage or maintenance. It should also automatically disengage after 30 days without sensing that the coach has been started. That is how the Onan EC30 Autostart works by default and if it is doing otherwise then it is in need of checking and some basic service.

My manual says it possiable but the wiring is not there.
Its supposed to be able to start the A/C and when it set at a certain temp.
that means that it will start the gen to run the a/c......33 ft ventana 2007
