Generator lid mod

I was having warranty work performed at Independence RV this week. One of my complaints was getting the gen lid released. They made this simple mod and it works great. BTW - this was my first service work there and it was outstanding.

You may want to read this entire thread http://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/dutc...ed-211095.html It contains info on adding gas struts. Dutch Star Don started the process on his older 40' Dutch Star without the sliding generator. On Page 2 I did the same modification but had to do more as I have the sliding generator.

When I pull the generator cover latch, my lid pops up on its own and to solve the problem of the compartment sticking, I added another spring opposite the existing spring.

Bill.....the older models (at least my 2014 did) use to come with the spring installed. I guess they thought the 19 didn't need it.

It's nice to see a dealership take the time to fab a part and fix and issue.
