I have an Onan 8kw diesel generator. The oil level and coolant levels are fine. When I run the generator with a light load, it will run forever... when I put a heavy load on, like the roof heat pumps to cool the coach, the generator will run for about 5 minutes and then shut down. I will restart it and it will run for about 5 minutes + or - and it shuts down.

Any thoughts on the cause?

The light in the start switch will blink a code after shutdown: one blink= code 1, 2 blinks=code two etc.
