Generator Slide Out Release
New Newmar owner with stupid question number 2:
Can you tell me specifically where the release handle is to slide the generator out. We’ve looked high and low and can’t seem to see.
Thank you.

If it is like our 2002 MADP it is inside left side of steering wheel bottom of dash panel.

That’s where you open the hood, but how do you pull the generator out?

I don't know how many changes were made between my coach being built and yours.
But my gen set slide release , is left and above of the gen set attached to an upright and may be hidden by the wiring harness.

Thanks for the photos guys, but ours is not there. Anyone else have something different? Our manual says it’s on slides.

A picture of your gen set area may help .
I doctored up Steve's photo .
Look in the area of the red oval in the picture , that's the slide mechanism's roll out arm.
Does your frame look like that ?

What yr is your coach? 2019 DS the pull is on the right about tummy high, depending on how tall you are.

Besides the pull latch, mine has 2 clamp type latches on the frame rail. One on each side. I suppose it is a safety feature.

Unfortunately ours does not pull out, even though the manual says it does. ☹️ But successfully able to service it. Thanks.

Looking for generator slide out
Can’t find my release either and sure not if it has one like my previous 43 footer. Did they leave it off my 2019 4018. Wow a bummer if that can’t be pulled out

Yes it is there on my 2019 4018 DS. I went back and crawled underneath to prove to myself that indeed the gen is on rollers. The handle was finally located on the firewall on the middle right about even with the bottom of the open hood. It opened like a champ and slid nicely as a new coach should operate . It does not have the old locking safety levers but relies totally on the handle operating catch. Boy was it difficult to locate the first time even though in plain view. One problem noted is the clear pvc hose from the A/C evaporator is too short and will drip on the HWH pump. This is a no no. Easy enough to correct with a longer piece of tubing and some cable ties so longer tube is located below where it can do no harm.
