Getting Copies of Keys Made?

After being locked out of the motorhome while getting fuel I need to some copies made. I had to get a ride back to my car for my spare set of keys. I have checked with my local Ace Hardware and they could make some, but not all of them. I need spares for the deadbolt, the other door lock, the compartments and the sewer hose compartment.

Trimark will sell you copies. You can order directly or they had an EBay page also. Just need the key code.

Go to a locksmith. I went to one in Palm Desert and was in and out in 5 minutes. No, I don't remember which one!!

On our new LA we needed to contact Spartan to get extra ignition keys. There is a number on the key that when you contact Spartan they will send to key to you already cut. The price is about 10 $.

A local locksmith was able to make copies of all the Trimark keys last week.

I have found the outside TV and Hose door keys along with Trimark at RVshop.com.

I just ordered a set of Freightliner ignition keys on Ebay. (2 each Freightliner Truck Factory Original Key Blanks - 597893 $9.10 Free Shipping) Will just need to take to locksmith to have cut.

As another poster said, go to Trimark. They'll sell you exact duplicates for your keys. We bought two sets from them years ago, they were pleasant to deal with. In our case both door keys and the compartment keys were Trimark.

When you order the keys from Trimark are they already cut or do you then have to have a locksmith or Ace Hardware cut them for you? I had a second set made at Ace Hardware and two of them don't work in some of the basement bays. I need a new basement key.

You provide them with the key code and they come stamped out for you. The local Ace or WalMart or whoever has to make copies. Sometimes their key machine is not set up correctly or the employee doesn't know how to run it properly.

I did locksmithing for over 25 years until my nephew decided he needed my area. I still have all of my equipment and have the ability to cut keys by code as well when people come to me for that still.

Sometimes ordering from Trimark is as cheap as going to the locksmith! Sometimes not.

Anyone can cut the keys. The problem is you have to find the blank. They are sold by a dealer, large hardware store in an area with lots of RV’s, or order from company. Should have said anyone can cut them if you have one to copy

Agreed, anybody can cut keys but if the blanks are hard to find why not just go to the source, especially since they are still in business. I found the price to be quite reasonable, the same as if I had ordered blanks from them, so it was a no-brainer.
