To add to my house battery/inverter question, during the same period while watching TV on the inverter, I heard a spontaneous humming sound..got up to check around and found that my Girard was trying to retract when it was already IN...wassup wit dat???

Larry, Do you have a master power on/off switch? If so turn it off. My rig has one for my main Girard awnings.
Also contact Girard, they are very helpful in matters of stange happenings. It may be water or at least moisture in a control box.

Nut...no master switch that I know of and it's been dry as a bone...kept inside AND no rain...Ill call Girard ..thanks

Larry, I had the same thing happen on a Beaver I used to own and it turned out to be a mis-adjusted stop switch. There is a switch at both the in and out positions on a Girard. Your manual will tell you how to adjust them.

That's sort of what I figured....it might be set right on the edge of either stop or go and decided to GO when it was in...will check on it..thanks
