Well I had an issue with a tree and the end pieces of the slide topper broke at their mounting points on the topper frame. I ordered the end plates from Girard and receive the new ones. One end was a different design from the old one and will require modification to make it work. I call Girard and asked if it was the correct part. They said yes and I explained them the problem. In short the square side (spring tension side) of the awning shaft goes into the end piece. On the old end it had a hole in the center the size of a quarter; the new end piece has a hole in the center the size of a dime. The hole is too small for the square shaft. They were saying they have had no issues with this. I find this hard to believe. It is sad when you have to modify replacement parts to make them work.

Hi John,
Welcome to the club. At the Tampa Super show the solar panel that maintains the engine battery stopped working. The techs looked at it and said it was working , but the red light was burned out. I asked them to fix it. Now comes the interesting part:
1. The regulator (the part with the light) has changed and will not work with my solar panel! In addition, it is much smaller than the original regulator so the hole in the dash is too large.
2. I said okay order the solar panel. New solar panel arrives and it is much smaller than the solar panel on the roof. A bracket must be fabricated to make it fit. They could not fabricate the bracket at the Super show.
3. I agreed to wait until the International Rally. They agreed to make the repair at that time.
