GM Ignition Switch Recall

The ignition key on my '07 DSDP looks to me like it came from a GM car.....wonder if my ignition switch is a GM part number like the ones under recall?

Most of the ignition issues I've read on here have to do with overloading the wiring, not an actual malfunction of the switch. (As I've seen described in the news)

There have been problems with the wiring harness as noted here on the Workhorse chassis and with overloaded wiring and a relay added to eliminate that problem.
Here are some recalls for Newmar chassis do not see the one for your coach.

Another part of the ignition switch problem is over loading the switch with a lot of keys or other items that add weight to the key switch. Shouldn't have more then maybe 10 keys on your key ring because over time this can cause problems with ignition/key switch.

Re: What tom said. I have a ring with perhaps 20 keys on it. My main complaint about driving a class a: They all fit.

When Im driving the Motor home This ring, which includes an ignition key for the rig, is in my pocket.. The key in the ignition lock has no ring Just a key, nothing more.. It is a copy.

Had an extra long key made for my DSDP. This the only thing in the ignition. Never taken out in 7 years. Old tour bus custome. Other keys on ring in pocket.
