Going from Fleetwood to Newmar

Hello there.

Going from a 2017 Fleetwood Discovery to a 2015 Newmar London Aire in mint condition. We think its a MUCH better fit for our family (including me driving long hours). Just thought I'd ask some Newmar owners out there if theres anything I should know beforehand etc... Are you happy with your coach? I've heard great things about Newmar service. True? Any issues, quirks etc..?

I'm excited about it and even though it's 2 yrs older than our current Fleetwood, it definitely seems like a WAY better coach in many ways including our comfort on long trips.

Any input from owners of current models or even older model Newmars is certainly appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Newmar family. I can't speak about Fleetwood or a Londan Air but I am on my second Newmar DP and the quality of the build and components overall is very good and my experience with their customer service has been exceptional. My belief is that you should feel real good about your move and expect that you will love the Newmar London Aire. Best of luck.

Welcome to the forum and the Newmar family, Dave.
Was a Fleetwood owner many years ago and found a Newmar back in 90's and never looked back owning three.
Here is a link to info about the coach you are working on, TSB's, brochure , owners guide and other important info for you.
All the links below in my signature will have more info for your coach.
I live just over the border in fact the state line goes through back yard.
Here are two search engines to help also just go to forum needed on irv2 search engine.
Enjoy your new coach and many safe travels in it.

The Discovery is a very good coach. The London Air is a definite step up. I think you will be very pleased with the change.

Well, we're not in the same league since we're planning on ordering a Bay Star but I can say we looked at a lot of coaches before we discovered Newmar. No contest. The other coaches weren't bad necessarily but they weren't up to Newmar standards. Materials, workmanship, chassis selection, etc.

You made a good choice.

As a 20 year Newmar owner who started out with a 95 London Aire and now have a 04 Essex you have made one great move up to Newmar and then also a London Aire. If you get a chance go to the factory and take a plant tour do it. Might want to join the Newmar Kountry Klub which is Newmar's travel club. FMCA is another club to join as you enter the RV traveling experience. Newmar are great coaches with a strong factory support and very loyal owners group who will share their experience with you. irv2 might be something you visit many times a week as you learn about your London Aire and share some information when you are ready.

I moved up from a 2012 Dicovery to a 2016 Ventana. My Discovery was a good coach and served me well. My Newmar is a GREAT coach and I am enjoying the upgrade!

I think you'll be very happy with the London Aire. It's a great coach, as most Newmars are.

Even with the conveniences of the 17 Discovery, you will find the amenities, driving technology, ride, and the overall comparison of the London Aire to be several notches above. ( I recently drove and took a friends Discovery 85 miles to a repair facility) and it made me fall in love with my 2016 DS 4369 all over again.
Welcome and great luck with it. My next coach up from the DS will be a London Aire!

Our family owned a 2012 Discovery and 2013 tag axle Discovery. We put on 25,000 to 30,000 mikes on those 2 coaches. And we just ordered a 2018 Dutch Star- our 4th one. I can tell you with confidence you'll never look back.

The first thing you'll notice is the quiet. It's a night and day difference between Newmar and Fleetwood. When we first got our 2015 Dutch Star I wouldn't be able to tell if the engine was started or not. A completely different kind of experience.
The other major difference you'll notice is the consistent temperature comfort in extreme heat and cold. The insulation in these Newmars is so far superior that you'll be amazed at how well they hold their temperature. The other thing we noticed is that when we traveled in very cold temps in our Discovery you'd feel the air around the slides. We did not feel that in the Dutch due to the slides being recessed into the body of the coach and creating a much better seal. These are the immediate differences that come to my mind. I'm sure there are others. In all cases there was nothing that made me feel as if we had stepped down. You are moving in the right direction.
