It is only in my sights because it surfaced in all the research I was doing, I asked some questions about it, and I took the position that once the 2008 or newer rigs NADA fell down into my price range, I would then buy, as I didn't feel pushed to buy immediately when I felt I had other entertainment options open to me in the meantime.

In a thread I started I think it was unclear that all valued it highly enough for all to add a big premium for it, but some did and would. So, all I'm doing is minimizing my risk of being sorry for not getting a Newmar with one on it...by just being a bit patient for one, in good condition, to fall within my budget and floor plan.
It wouldn't Rodger, it did not have it............

Nice video. Good marketing. Would like to try the comfort drive. Wonder if Newmar will let me use one for the day suggested to try it out. Doubt I would be able to sit for a 1000 miles but I will give it a try.

I recall the Pontiac power steering. Nice but no road feel so that went away.

No, you misunderstand me, my fault for not being clear. I'm not aware that NADA adjusts for CD, so if you are looking at a variety of dps for a variety of years and say one is a 2006 vs a 2008, NADA doesn't consider CD and add value, to my knowledge to the 2008...And it does't knock down the value of at the 2006 without a CD.

An ignored, unrecognized item as to NADA.

On the other hand, a similar dp for a particular year with two hp choices are priced in consideration of the hp differentiation.

Yes, I'm aware CD started in 2008.

I just don't see the CD adding value when looking at the offered prices either by dealers or private owners or the reverse.

We find the 2013 F53 handles nicely. The DW does a fair share of the driving and honestly does a great job of it. Not sure I'd go for CD if they offered it on the Canyon Star because I've never driven a unit that has it. However, from everything I read and hear it sounds great. If it's that good chances are I would have ordered the option when I had our unit built. Why not offer it? Let folks decide if it's for them or not. Just MHO.

I just recently discovered something along the same lines. Speaking of MADP's, there was a huge jump in MSRP between 2006 and 2007. The NADA values also reflect this jump. Is this all about CD or was there a big upgrade in the MADP line from 2006 to 2007?

I am going to guess it was the comfort drive Scott, the Mountain Aire did not go to the top shelf some time after that........

Per the 2007 MADP brochure, page 8 chassis, includes true comfort drive steering. Not an option. Did not compare the standard features to 2006 nor do I have information on price increases for materials, wages, other costs.

I have no doubt they increase the MSRP price for that upgrade, but I doubt the price increase was only for that change.

The survey thread indicated owners might pay between $5,000 to $20,000 for that alone. Unfortunately, it can not be retroactively installed or installed on other mh - per the engineer. Major change in the cab and chassis of the mh.

I don't see anything in NADA on it so far. Have mh prices ever been stable year after year, or not have various large bumps? I don't know.

Will be interesting if we flush something out.

And I don't think the other mfg of dp are losing new sales over CD...maybe me as a one off exception as to a used unit competing with used buyers, shortly.

According to NADA, the MSRPs, w/o adding any options, are about 100K more on the 2007 over the 2006. Not sure if it's comparing apples to apples.

The 2006 (as mine) is a Mountain Master GT. The 07 is K2.

In 2007, Comfort Drive was standard on Mountain Aire and above.

It wasn't until 2008 that the Dutch Star and lower got it.

OK. So 2007 brought some big changes to the MADP line: MMG2 to K2, 400 ISL to 450 ISM, 3000MH to 4000MH, and CD. That would explain a good portion of the price hike. It also looks like Hydronic heating became standard instead of an option.

As far as I know, the Mountain Aire was always High Line, at least well before 2006.

There was a time when the Mountain Aire was grouped in with the Dutch Star, and the Dutch Aire , Kountry Aire. Etc. , and sat at the top of that entry level DP series????, then, maybe when the Ventana came out......Newmar pushed the Mountain Aire to the top shelf (Luxury Line as they call it) with the Essex and King Aire.........Oh well, this thread and Scott's questions, got me wondering........
