Grand Star air suspension

I have a 08 Grand Star model 3750. The generator is mounted on the passenger side behind the rear tires. The steel plate that protects the gen set frequently drags when hitting dips usually encounted while getting on and off highways. Is there an air suspension systemn available that could raise the rear end of the Grand Star an inch or two and perhaps preclude this dragging? One Freightliner dealer told me that commercial air bags could not be added.

Welcome to iRV2.com! Unfortunately, I would have to agree with the Freightliner dealer. Neither the AirLift nor RideRite websites list this chassis. Maybe if they see some demand for one they'll spend the time engineering it.

In the meantime, hopefully the steel plate is built well!

I have been out of town without internet service for a week. While on our trip in our Grandstar 3750 we hit down hard enought to flaten the exhaust pipe for our generator. Newmar engineers ran the exhaust pipe under the frame support for the generator, which hangs low anyway, as the op posted. This is 3 times this has happened and it doesn't take much of a curb. I will be changing the exhaust to run out the back of the motorhome insted of under the generator. Newmar should know better then rig something stupid like that. I'll be taking pictures of it and try to post them, also will be calling Newmar..

I have found a partial solution to the Grand Star suspension question that I earlier asked. Timbren makes a solid rubber device that aids your existing springs. It is called a Suspension Enhancement System (SES). I managed to raise the rear of the RV nearly an inch by installing the SES. The model for the Freightliner is OSHRV and costs around $400. It is relatively easy to install.

Good job cmac41. I have found solving a problem yourself is the best solution sometimes.
Went to a dealer once to install Air Lift bags on Mountain Aire Ford and they said it couldn't be done so installed myself.
