I bought my MH used and didn't get a owners manual.

My big slide kinda makes noises like it could use some grease and I have looked at the slide go in and out but don't really see a place where I could grease.

Do I grease right where the gears move the rail? And if so what type do I use..

Thanks Lee

Lee it isn't required that grease is needed just check where the large square D supports, with holes in bottom, are not binding to side walls of box channel they enter are not hitting sides of box. If one is just use some step lube, Kiwi, to that area. If your slide tracks good to open and close you should be ok. I wax the sidewalls of slides so rubber slides easier over slide walls. When your slide is opened check the rubber seal to see if the wipper part of rubber is flush to the sidewall of slide. No folds in rubber seal going up slidewall if there is a fold use finger and run up rubber seal to make slide seal flush against the sidewall.
A fold will allow water to get inside coach on floor on any slide.

The clunks could be your locking bars hitting side of recessed wall opening. Also just check under slide outside for maybe something loose and under rollers to make sure they are all attached to brakets that hold them.

dont grease the slide. grease will hold dirt and sand in places you dont want it to be.

Lee,

Got to Wal Mart and get a couple of cans of silicone spray. Now go buy a gallon of Voom cleaner from any good RV dealer. Mix up a batch of Voom (5:1) in a spray bottle. Assuming the slides are in the out position, clean all the rubber on the slides and when dry spray with silicone. Repeat the process when the slides are in.

I do this to all my rubber seals, slides, bay doors, entry door and so on. It's amazing the number of squeaks and other noises that disappear.
