I'm posting this under Newmar 'cause SOB's might have a different setup.

First, let's start with what I know:
2008 Kountry Star with magical black push button box to control the TV input

Now, what I'd like to know:
How can I use headphones on the front TV if I am not using the Sony Home Theatre system ?

When using the Sony, I can plug headphones into the front jack and it cancels out all sound from the ceiling speakers - yay!

But if I'm watching the TV and the input is either from Air or Sat (one of those buttons is pushed on the magical black box), the sound is coming from the TV - not through the Sony.

Would like to purchase wireless headphones that can be used for all options on the front TV.

ADVthanksANCE (thanks in advance)

Hi KSDP_PA,
Consider purchasing headphones that have their own volume control. One can reduce the TV speaker volume and control the headphone volume independent of the speakers. Consider TV Ears Official Site - Hear TV Better Than Ever Before! The Doctor Recommended Wireless TV Listening Device. I have these and they work as advertised. I would make the same purchase again. My TV is a Samsung. I do not know if the sound would come through the speakers or not. I turn down the TV speakers before putting on the head phones.

A lot depends on the TV... On SOME TV's there are a whole bunch of jacks on the back panel.. One set might, and I stress MIGHT, be pre-amp audio out.

This can be fed to an inexpensive stereo amplifier and then to the headset trasnmitter.. It might be possible to feed the trnsmitter direct (But I'd not count on that) and then use the volume control on the headphones.

But that's only if tht output is there.

To slience the TV's speakers.. Well, use the volume control, if that is it does not kill the pre-amp output s well.

didn't ever find a reasonable price for a 2-headset deal - so we just went with one headset.

hooked up transmitter to the TV's audio-out.

works great !!!!!

We have a setup from Wally's, I thinks Bose, that the transmitter we plugged into the satellite receiver, volume is controlled on the headset.

I have an 08 Ventana with Sony Home Theater System also. I needed to hook a bluetooth transmitter so I could listen to the TV over my hearing aid, bu also not interupt the normal TV audio output. What I found is that among the wires that connect to the Home Theater is a set of audio leads coming from the TV with RCA style connections that plug into the audio connectors on the back of the Home Theater unit, these are so you can route your TV audio through your Home Theater system. What I did was buy 2 "Y" cables with the correct RCA plugs on them to tap into that source, when they are installed you can route the audio signal to both the Home Theater and to a wireless transmitter (in my case a bluetooth transmitter). If you buy a "Y" cable that has all 3 male RC connectors you may also need a couple of female RCA stye couplers. This set up does not effect the normal TV audio output or the output from the Home Theater. I have my bluetooth transmitter sitting on top of the Home Theater unit, by the receptacles in the electronics cabinet. Works like a champ, bought all the parts at Best Buy, but any audio equipment place should have what is need. If you need additional info let me know.
