Am thinking about a trip late Fall. Am still trying to figure out all the " stuff" on my new ride. So another dumb question....do the heater pads..switch in the bath room..work on 12 volts? Where are they so I can determine if they actually work..ie..can I get to them?

If the pads work and and the Oasis heater is left one...will that keep everything warm enough for travel in 18-35 degree's? Thanks.

As this link says the switch is for 110 operation of pads mounted under your holding tanks. Not sure you can see them, maybe the wiring into them.
I have traveled in winter months and boondock while traveling to FL.
The furnace kept everything under in compartments nice and warm. Your heating system should do the same.
I have a vent tube off furnace with 12V fan inside that cycles with the furnace when its on.

I use my DSDP to go hunting in Montana each November. Have been in below 0 for days. Heat pads and furnace left on at about 60 and have never had a problem freezing , there is also a switch in the water compartment to switch on to blow heat into that compartment. Each time the furnace comes on it heats up that area of the MH. Make sure you have plenty of propane and keep the pads on and you will have no problems. I enjoy our motorhome all seasons, not just in the summer and the insulation and build of Newmar were very instermental (sp) in our selection of our Dutch Star. Seven years old and loving it more each year. Got all the bugs worked out now and just enjoying....BS

Our son was born last year with health issues and ended up spending the winter in the NICU. Because it was 2 hours from our house, we stayed in our 07 MADP all winter where there were frequently temps in the teens and below. I do not have the tank pads, but the Aquahot system with adjustable bay temp thermostat never let the temp down there drop below 45. In the coach, the aquahot combined with the heated tile floors never left us feeling chilly.

As for traveling - we took a few extended drives over the winter on clear non-salty days to exercise the coach... again, the bay stayed where it needed to be.

Good luck!
