We'll be picking up our new 2008 Kountry Aire next week at Wilkins RV in Bath, NY. We were at the dealership the week before last and I hitched it up briefly to my F450 after they installed a hitch and brake controller in the truck for me, and it looks like I could use 1"-2" of height adjustments to get the trailer to ride level with the truck. (The trailer rides high in the front, with the hitch set at it's lowest setting.)
The Kountry Aire has a Mor/ryde LRE suspension system. Does anyone know whether this suspension system can be adjusted upward? (I believe that other Mor/ryde systems have height adjustments.)
Another possibility may be to adjust the height of the king pin, but I'm not sure how much this can be adjusted upward due to the fiberglass shroud that surrounds it.
I know that most of you guys on this forum are motorhome people, but maybe someone here might have an answer. Thanks.
John

John,
I linked this to the TT & 5th wheel forum for more exposure.

1"-2" is quite satisfactory. I'd leave it there. The equalizer between the tandem springs does exactly that, equalizes the weight on each axle(within reason of course). My 5er is 3" front high and tows quite well. Of course that's 3" in 40' of 5er = .36*(36 one-hundredths of one degree). My Mor-Ryde suspension has about 6" of travel where the equalizer would be normally.
You may calculate the angle for your trailer here.
As for your Mor-Ryde adjustment question, search irv2.com for "Mor-Ryde". I remember a recent post(last 10 days) containing a Mor-Ryde contact name and phone number for issues/questions.

I had to have the kingpin adjusted on my Kountry Star to get another inch of height. I know the kingpin box is slightly different for your trailer, but ask the dealer to adjust it for you.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions.
I went to a local Newmar dealer and checked the height adjustments on a couple units in their inventroy with Mor/ryde king pins. It looks like it can be raisedor lowered, by 2" increments. I don't know whether mine can be raised until the fiberglass shroud is removed, but I guess I'll know when we return to the dealer next week to finalize the purchase of the trailer.
