Many portable automatic chargers won't start charging with a totally dead battery.
http://www.batterychargers.com/faqs/
Why doesn't my automatic charger charge my battery?
An automatic charger is designed to power the transformer when you first plug it into a receptacle. The automatic charger needs to “see” at least 4 volts in the battery to power up the circuitry. This initializes the charge sequence. When a completely discharged battery, or one with less than 4 volts charge remaining, is attached to the charger, the charger never “sees” this battery and will not begin the charging cycle.

C.Martin the OP has a different inverter but I see nothing wrong with your post for that type inverter THE WARNING IS FOR, you are only lifting off the battery feed for that type inverter before lifting battery leads off the house batteries that will be changed.

Well said.
My apologies to the OP....and others to whom the warning would not apply.
I wrongly assumed that Newmar used Magnum products...where clearly it’s not the only type they use.
Thank you for clarifying.

Pictures for sure, but be sure to draw a diagram as mentioned earlier and label each connection point to a battery I.e. battery one positive, battery two negative. When I replaced two batteries if I did not have the diagram I would have missed something with just pictures. But then again I can use all the help I can get anyway. Best of luck.

No need to be sorry when I post answers to questions I will post double information between DP and Gas owners coach's because everyone reads the posts and if info falls into their coach parameters they have their answer.
So your post covers it for your type inverter which many new owners own and someday will be changing their batteries, when they do search on forum to change batteries, they will have all the answers on how to start.
