I have a 04 Essex, I am hooked in to a 50 amp service & the TV went out. The only 110v service I am getting is the dishwasher & washing machine, every thing else is out. I have checked the circuit brakers(OK) GFI's'(OK)
Disconnected to 50 amp & ran the generator, no change. Even tried the inverter no change. I ran an extention lead from a diffrent 20 amp sourse & the tv's Blue ray, Microwave, all work ok. Where could my problem be.
I am in Placerville, Ca. Help. any good RV electritions up here?
Christian.

Christian, Welcome to iRV2.com! I'm sure some Essex owners will chime in here soon, but I'll take a stab at in the meantime.

If you've checked (tripping and resetting is better than visually inspecting them) the breakers and GFI's, check the inverter breakers (usually push-button types) also. TV and microwave will be fed through the inverter so if they are both dead it is a good bet it is inverter-related.

Welcome ryankaty to the Newmar forum & irv2.
In your load center did you check the main circuit breaker, top two in center, for the load center 1/2 of your load center sounds dead. Reset them all as if they tripped.
In your power bay where 50 amp cable is find your Transfer Switch, black box, and gently tap the sides with handle of screw driver, may have a fused dirty contact on relay and tapping may break it loose.

I have had others express the same symptoms but in Monaco coaches, and it always has been a GFI that tripped or went bad. Most of the time, they end up finding a GFI that they didn't know about.

Are you sure that you checked ALL of the GFI's?

Based on you description in the OP it sounds like one of the power legs is dead in the shore receptacle you are plugged in to. Use a volt-ohm meter to test all the pins in that receptacle.

I just re-read your OP........my suggestion is not your solution. sorry.

Hi ryankaty,
For me, it sounds like your inverter circuit breaker has tripped. This is the breaker that is physically located on the inverter. It could also be a button breaker, but it is located on the inverter.

Had the same problem this summer. It deals with the inverter. Most of the coach's electrical plugs go through the inverter.
Try
1. Turning invertor off/on at the inverter not remote panel.
2. While turning it off/on check the 30 breaker on the inverter. A push button on the side of the inverter.
3. After turning the inverter off, hold the power button on for 15 seconds-- that does a "hard reboot" of the inverter. One of the 3 things should get the inverter back online.

Hello thanks you for your help. during the evening we were recomended to turn the inverter of for 10 secs & pull out the phone lines, put them back in, then turn it on. all electric came on for 10 seconds then died, except for the dish washer, washing machine, fridge, they all work.
Christian.

Guess you need to have the inverter checked out by a service tech. Sure sounds like something real strange is happening inside the inverter.
