Need to replace 2 baggage doors on my 98 dutch star. Can anyone tell me how to remove the doors? The hinge is the problem. Looked, poked and prodded and I don't see how the hinge is released/removed.
Thanks,
Paul

Welcome PaulO to the Newmar forum and irv2.
I have doors that have 6" pieces that screw to top of door and have a curve bend that conforms to hinge rail just have to remove four screws on each strip 2 per door and door will release from hinge rail.
Yours may have to be slided along hinge rail after you remove a finished end cap on end of rail hinge. Some doors different MFG's you lift door 3/4 and they release from hinge rail.
If none of these work for you give Newmar repair a call, have your coach number handy and they will tell you type you have.
Some one with your coach year may post so we will get it first hand.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

on my 98 dsdp the doors were lifted as noted about 3/4 way up and they slipped backwards out of the hinge rail and they come free by pushing in...they do not really have a hinge..hard to explain as it is a feel thing..

On many the hinge rail will only allow the hinge to be removed by sliding it to the end. You may consider removing the self tapping screws that attach each hinge to the door and using the same hinge.

Thank you all for your replies. Newmar sent me a PDF file with instructions. They described opening the door to at least 60 deg. and pushing is stated above. Mine would not come off so, Nerwmars alternative was to remove the extruded aluminum rail that is screwed to the side of the MH and forms one half of the hinge. The problem with this is that you have to remove an aluminum cover that hides the srcrews and this piece is almost the whole length of the MH. Once removed, the cover must be replaced. Unfortunately, I did all this and although it worked, you do nearly as much damage as you are trying to fix. I understand the later coaches have a different hinge system. I can see why it was changed. Clearly, this system is great during assembly of the coach and probably takes less time than individual hinges. Just hope you never have to replace a door. BTW, Newmar will make replacement doors for you. Want to gues how much mine cost? $600 each and I needed two. Ouch!!! It takes them 5 days to make them.

If I got this right - here it is. If not, I will try again.
