Help With TV
My Husband & Myself Just Bought A 2008 Newmar Dutch Star. I Have Been Trying To Get A Few Answers To A Couple Questions We Have, Regarding The TV In The Front Of The Coach. How Do You Remove It? Also, Where Do I Find The Cable TV Hook-Up Outside The Coach? ANY Help Would Be GREATLY Appreciated!
Thanks For Your Time:
SusanCamille

Remove any trim from around the TV. The trim is usually screwed on somehow. That may expose some brackets or straps holding the TV in. If your cable TV connection is not visible on the outside of the MH look inside some of compartments. Mine are on the outside wall near the back on the drivers side. Perhaps someone can add to this that has a unit like yours. Be patient, someone will chime in. Oh ya, welcome to IRV2. Great place for information.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new rig!
You'll find that our search feature is really useful. Details on how to remove TVs on specific models vary widely so if you do a search on your particular year, make, model and "TV replacement removal" you'll probably get on the right track. They usually need to have a piece or two of molding removed to access the mounting hardware but it can be tough to identify.
You should also have an outside cable hookup and it can be almost anywhere... but usually near the rear of the coach. Check the electrical bay and even the engine compartment. Here too the search feature might lead you directly to it. Also check out our Newmar Owners Forum.
We're glad you found us.

Hi SusanCamille,
Welcome to iRV2 and the Newmar Owner's forum. Let's take the easy question first. If you are looking for the incoming cable TV connection (like getting cable TV from the CG), the connection is in the basement compartment where the shore power cord connects to the coach. If you are looking for the exterior entertainment compartment connection, it should be on the passenger side in the exterior entertainment compartment. It should be toward the forward part of the compartment. You might need to look in the upper right corner for the wire.
Getting the front TV out is a two person job and it is dangerous. The trim is held on by screws in the trim OR the vinyl covering next to the wood trim. Once the trim is removed, one should be able to see the additional screws holding the brackets that hold the TV. Every year and every model is different depending on the TV that is installed. Good luck and be careful.

Welcome SusanCamille to the forum and irv2.
If you go into the QT's # 3 stickie you will find a section for tv to LCD conversions that will have all types of conversions and how to remove the different tv setups.
Here is a Brochure and Owners Guide for you.
Down below in my signature you will find three links, QT's 1 & 2 and new 3 that will also relate to your Newmar.
Maybe you will also be interested in the HOOTS GATHERING.
Enjoy the forum and welcome to the Newmar family.

The wood surround has possibly two screws into it through the wall of adjoining cabinets that have to be removed so wood attached to surround can slip out from the TV box.
The TV will have a metal plate attached to bottom of box that screws need to be removed so Tv will slip out of box and its a two man job to remove.
If you have a non HD LCD thee should be a mounting bar that needs to be unlocked so you can mount the new one.

007's last post is correct. I forgot about he possibility of a screw or two being in the adjoining cabinets. This is especially true on the driver's side.
