I have a 2007 Baystar by Newmar; my dash ac unit is blowing hot air. I was told that I should check the in coach hepa air filter. Does anyone know where this is located at?
Thanks,
Frank

Frank, Welcome to iRV2.com! I'm not sure there is a Hepa filter, or any other kind of filter. Here are the owners guides (click on the picture of your control). If yours is the same as mine there is no mention of a filter in the guide or in any of the technical resources here.

I'd confirm with your source, or check another source. Most class A RV dash A/C and heating systems are made by Evans Tempcon so most RV service techs will have the answer.

Hello all,
Thanks for the reply's, I was told this by a mechanic from a local shop that was recomended to me by camping world. I guess I can scratch this shop off of my list. I have been getting good ideas from the Newmar owners site.

Frank - Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately Camping World is only good for buying accessories (and then at inflated pricing) and not necessarily known for repair expertise. Your coach A/C system has filters but only cheap mesh material which can be washed. Never heard of a filter in an automotive system which is what your dash A/C really is. There could be a number of reasons for it blowing hot air all of which are detailed in threads available on these forums, you might want to do a search.

First item would be to check if the compressor clutch is engaging. If not then check if power is getting to the clutch. If low pressure switch is preventing power then most likely the refrigerant has a leak and is low.

Hello all,
I had my AC fixed this past weekend. I had to put in 4 canisters of freon and one can of seal lubricant. The mechanic that did the work tested the valve where you insert the freon with soapy water and found that it was leaking from there. He used a valve stem tightener to tighten the valve and my problem was solved. Just a note to anyone else that may have this problem.

Frank welcome to the Newmar forum & irv2.
Check this thread out it may solve your problem and check your Evans valve operation with someone operating the control on dash while you look at valve under hood. The wire may be loose on control valve also.
