This is a followup to an earlier post re; slide problem. We have a 2005 Newmar Scottsdale, the roadside slide was crooked. We had RV Doctor come to the house yesterday, and with his knowledge and advice received on this site, we were able to get the slide straightened so that the front closes perfectly, but the rear of the slide still is "slightly" open about 3/8 of an inch. I like the fact that the Newmar slides are flush with the exterior walls of the coach, but have no idea how to get the slide the final 3/8 inch, believe me we tried everything.
The mechanic thinks the shaft is slightly bent preventing it from going in all way. My thought is that it should be fine for now, ( until I can get it to a service center), based on the idea that the slide doesn't leak when it is open, so the same seal should protect it when it is nearly closed to its current position. I also worry that it might work out while traveling, but the mechanic says that won't happen. What do you think???

Hi Gene,
Do you have manual lock arms? If so, can the lock arms be locked?
