Hide a leaf disaster

after eating dinner, i pushed the hide a leaf in, and a napkin went down the back. because the furnace is under there, i reached in try to find it and something snapped and pinned my hand against the wall. i thought the hand was broken, i could not free it, after yelling a lot my neighbor came over and freed my hand. looking now there is a hydraulic arm mounted on a block hanging loose. i assume this is some kind of power assist. if you have a hide a leaf can you tell me where the arm is attached when fully extended?
