HIGH, but NO low beams
I have a 2010 Dutch Star 4386 with a Spartan chassis.
No problem with lights in 2011 and 2012, but starting in lucky 2013 the low beams won't go on.
I have looked for a fuse for head lights and found nothing.
Anyone knowing what this might be that could shed some (pardon the pun) "light" on the subject I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks much,
Gene

It is probably a relay ,but the first thing I would do is check that the bulbs are good .
I have had two of them burnt out at the same time and spent hours looking for a problem that I didn't have .

No fuse in the headlight circuits, self re-setting circuit breakers usually in the headlight switch.
Does your coach have DRL ( day time running lights ) some times a problem with the DRL module will keep the high beams on even when you try for low beams.
Otherwise you'll be looking for a relay in the circuit.
I don't know if Spartan has a Help Line , like Freightliner does, others with a Spartan Chassis will probably know.
Excell, got in while I was typing, X2 , on check the bulbs first.

This will sound strange, but tap on the steering wheel telescope handle a few times with about the same force it wound take to move it. The ground for the high low switch is on the same track and gets gummed up ...

It could very well just be the switch. I would dought that both bulbs burned out at the same time. Not likely. But one switch controls both lights, and they can fail. Are it could be a relay problem for the DRL system. On some trucks you can pull this relay out and still have full headlight function, and it kills the DRL system. One would guess if the relay fails, you might loose some or all of your headlight function, but by removing it you may get it back. Light systems are way more complex now then back in the good ol days when you had a button on the floor for hi lo headlights. This switch only had three wires going to it. Don't know about this new system. Some newer vehicles all lights are controll through the ECM and some have a canabus system.

Well folks I guess it is not good to go with the odds.
I thought the odds were slim both bulbs could have burned out at the same time, but that is what it was.
Thanks to all for your ideas on correcting the problem. Good to know for future reference.
Gene

Thanks for the follow-up Gene, I guess they didn't want to part after being together so long.
