Check out DigiCr computer chip to see if they have an application for yours. IF you have a rear radiator without a two speed fan, you may be able to get a lower drag one from Source Engineering. It should be easy to get 400+hp from that engine.

I'm curious if it's a 360 ISC or 360 ISL. The brochure doesn't say. It's a DEF motor so there won't be any chipping or changes.

Don, do you think there is any chance that Cummins can actually up the hp with their "insite" program? Not sure of the spelling.

Something doesn't sound right with your rig... you don't mention the grades you are pulling.

I am at 34,300 lbs pulling a Tahoe with an ISB 340 hp and Allison combo.

The biggest hills so far are the 95 corridor in Connecticut and the 64 west hills in Virginia. I can maintain 55 mph on everything so far. I am not afraid to bury the throttle and let the engine work. I watch the temp gauge climb to 212 and then hear the fan kick on and drop the temp back to 185. The highest I have seen the trans temp get is 195 and that was pulling long grade with the outside air temp at 98.

I have a 2002 Kountry Star motorhome, with a 300 turbocharged Cummins DP. We also tow a 2011 Ford Escape. This setup runs out real well on the flat roads. But when it comes to the hills its a different story. Its hard to describe, its like there's a hiccup in the fuel system. My wife says it happens every 7-8 seconds. its like its starved for fuel for just 1/2 second then back to the climb. Any thoughts?

Have you changed the fuel filters lately? If not you should try that remedy first.

Your filters can plug very quickly if you happen to have fuel contaminated with Algae. I had this happen to me. Algae has a way of starting to grow in diesel fuel that sit for long periods of time.

I would change your filters even though they were recently changed, and look for signs of algae when you remove them. It will be a greenish slime.
If you find algae to be the problem you will have to add a fuel supplement to combat it. I use Bio-Bor.

I agree with you that driving habits contribute to the lack of power syndrome.
However in this case he's not complaining of general lack of power. It's a hiccup every 7-8 seconds when engine is under heavy load then back to running normal. When my filters where plugging with algae that is the exact way my engine was performing. On mine the stop engine light and alarm would sound just for a second during that hiccup.

I was speaking the original posted issue, hiccup, usually air, could be ECM, wire short etc.

Had a similar problem on our 2002 DSDP with the ISC engine. Took it to a repair facility where they found a wire from the fuel pump was shorting out to ground. Suggest you have the engine codes checked.

Thanks so much for all of your responses. I will replace the fuel filters and try the additive Bio-Bor first. I am familiar with the algae problem in diesel fuel. Can I buy the Bio-Bor from my local RV dealer?

Probably not, try a marine supplier or online.

Guess I've been lucky for 15 years of DP ownership as I've never gotten bad fuel nor had an algae infestation so I've never bought any Bio-Bor but, having had boats for some years and belonging to a yacht club I did get exposed to it.
