Home Theater Upgrade

I have the original Jaimo home theater receiver. I would like to upgrade to a blu-ray player and an internet capable (wireless) app se3lection. The Samsung HT w5500 is close. It has the correct dimensions and features , but it doe not give me the correct outputs for the video selector box. I need rca three connector and a video output. Anybody gone through this and have a recommendation?

Your question is subjective, so there is no one size fits all answer.

I would look for a receiver with HDMI inputs and outputs. The HDMI cable handles all your audio and video needs. You won't need to use the RCA jacks.

You can get a new switchbox with HDMI connections for about $100.

if you have three rca jacks they are likely Video / Left and Right audio (right?) typically Yellow (video) and red / white jacks.
If this is what you have, that is called composite video and is out of date.
HDMI would be the current technology. And your TV will look a whole bunch better.
The problem is you would need HDMI from source to switches to cables to TV. So it likely would be a major upgrade for you if the TV for example doesnt' support HDMI (replace the TV with a new one), And to install HDMI cables in the coach (can be a pretty big job....)

To second what other posters have said, while it is best to upgrade the whole system, sometimes it can't be done all at one time. Of course the only way to benefit from the Blu-Ray quality is to upgrade all the cabling to something that will handle the HD signals (such as HDMI) as well as upgrading all the TV's and AV components to the same standard.

When we upgraded we wanted to keep the old non-HD TV in the bedroom working with the Blu-Ray player up front. We bought a box to convert HDMI to composite video to feed into the original selector box. Here is an example from Amazon.

I am trying to not have to rewire my whole entertainment system. I realize that HDMI is and has been the methodology for signal connection for years. Mu issue is the connections between the distribution box and the receiver. I need 1 video connection (yellow cable) and the component video out. I really don't want to rewire my whole system, the current TVs are fine. Just want the blu-ray and Netflix access.
