As I usually do when I get ready for a trip (w/e or other) I check my "under hood" stuff first. Just pull the hood release and go out and open the hood. But, this time the drivers side didn't release. So, I go back in the coach a pull the handle again. Same results..... say what! Now I start checking things and low an behold I see the 2 screws that hold the drivers side hood latch are loose. After messing with it a bit the screws fell out and I was able lift the hood enough to disconnect the return spring and open the hood. I reinstalled the screws, the return spring and the release cable. Before I closed the hood to check the close adjustment I found that the passengers side hood pin was loose. Needles to say if this had happened on the road I would have been in a world of hurt. I have just added 2 more checks to my "get ready list".

Hi, Dale I have done the same for Trip to Ohio checking the rig. The cable has to much slack in it and if not attached on way out to the release latch will just flex the cable wire tubing.
So I release the latch by placing my long fingers through top front vent opening and feel up just to the right on release latch and pull cable wire to release latch.
Once the latch is released you may have to dress the cable wire over the locking bolt, but with practice its no problem. I find I'm always forgetting to pull release for hood and most of the time I just use my hand to release from outside.
Have a good time and safe trip.
