Horn & Windshield Wiper - Work Intermittently

I have a 2009 Newmar Allstar w/ Spartan Chassis.

I have a driving test coming up and of course I'm having issues popping up all over the place.

First I discovered the horn wasn't working.. then about 15 minutes down the road it started working... then stopped again.

Then I discovered the same thing was happening with the windshield wipers...

Currently the windshield wipers are working, but the horn is not. I took the cover off the steering wheel and I can't find any pinched wires.

On top of that while traveling the engine light came on and I gathered the codes.. when I started the engine back up it went away and hasn't come back.

I'm worried that any/all of these will crop up on the day of my driving test and cause me to fail the test. Of course I'm on a tight time line so failing the test is going to cost me a lot of money to leave TX then come back again.

Here are the engine codes.

Source 0 Engine
- SPN 5298 FMI 18
- SPN 5018 FMI 11

Mid 128 Engine
- SID 380 FMI 1
- SID 380 FMI 11

The first things I would like to try and address is the horn and windshield wiper issue.

Edit: I should also note that the cruise control side of the steering wheel works great. Haven't had any issues with it.

Update. I found the SmartWheel Control Module. It doesn't look anything like the ones on this page...

Technical Support | Vehicle Improvement Products Inc.

However, after removing all the plugs and plugging them back in.. it worked. I took them all out and put the cover back on and plugged them in and it didn't work. So I narrowed down the plugs that affected the horn to just two of the plugs. After cycling them a few times I was able to get the horn working again.

So I'm wondering.. is it that the connector isn't seating correctly or is it possible the control module is going bad? Possibly something else?

Gut feel is the connector is guilty. Nice diagnosing.

Do you think some dielectric grease would help out?

Edit: After additional research, it looks like I don't want to use dielectric grease, but instead find some sort of electrical contact grease. Does anyone have a recommendation for a particular product to use?
