Hose reel

My hose reel is becoming problematic. It doesn't want to lock after pulling it out to connect to city water. I can only get it to lock in a couple of places. Anyone have a simple fix? Don't want to completely tear down if I don't have to.

Check the mfg and if it is Glendenning (sp) call their customer service and they can probably send you a replacement part. I had an issue and they sent me the part for the repair.

It could be just dirty after all these years. Can you get the spray tube of a can of WD40 into the mechanism. I would generously spray while operating it and see if that makes it catch better.

Mine does the same thing .... had it apart and lubed it .... worked better for awhile .... mostly I just rap the side of the reel with my hand and it catches.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give them all a try. I'll use my silicone spray instead of wd-40.
