Is the water hose reel standard on the Dutchstar ? I see the power cord reel as an option but nothing about the hose reel.... thanks

No, it is a special order / request that they will do. I do not know why it is not an option, and I guess that next model year it will be an option.

North Trail in Ft. Myers orders all of theirs with this "special request". That is where I saw it and made sure to order mine with it.

The water bay seemed to be small without the reel, and the place they out the reel was otherwise unusable ( at least the upper portion ) so I see no downside to ordering it that way.

PanJH --

If you like this option (and we did too), be sure to order it with your coach because they use a different panel in the wet area than if the hose reel is not ordered and installed during coach build at Newmar. I'm not saying it can't be done later, but there is no question that if you order it with the coach and Newmar installs it as your coach is produced, the installation is more efficiently done with all hose connections, the space used is less and the panel and the hose reel are integrated in the smoothest way possible given the limited space in which they sit in the wet bay.

I believe the hose reel option retails for just over $500, but of course if you order it with the coach and you get your dealer to discount the coach order, you will get it for the same discount percentage that you get on your overall deal.

We found out about this option only well after our order had been placed -- it was not listed on the 2013 Dutch Star Order Form and we only learned about it from this Forum shortly before our coach was started in production. After thinking about it, we decided we liked it enough to order it despite having to pay the full price for it because it was added at the last minute -- we felt we were just lucky to be able to get it in time to be added to the coach.

You can, however, be smarter than we were by getting it on your original coach order having learned from our mistake!

Keep us posted on what model Dutch Star your order and what options you decide to equip it with!

Best wishes.
