House battery tie down straps

Getting ready to change out the house batteries. The old hold down straps are gone. Might have some of the hooks still there but really need to find replacements for all of it. I have searched various sites but I am not finding them...Help!

Are you talking about plastic straps or metal? Are these on the house batteries 6V or the start batteries?

House battery tie down straps

I am guessing you had or have the nylon straps like in our 2002. When I rebuilt the battery box I had trouble locating battery specific straps. Fortunately after cleaning it all up originals were ok hooks eroded away but did not need those.

I replaced mine with a off the shelf product from Home Depot.

I used heavy rubber tarp ties (get at farm supply store or truck stops) and replaced the mild steel S hooks on the ends with stainless steel S hooks- close the ends going through the strap with a large pair of Channel Lock pliers. Works great, won't corrode & keeps good tension on the batteries.

That looks like what I'll have to do.

I'm using these and they seem to work well. Easy to use with the over center buckle. I wish the buckle was plastic, but its metal.
