In the tray that holds 6- 6v batteries, I'm not sure of two of the cable connections. Other than the large 3/0 cables there are three other smaller wires.
  1. One is fused with a 30amp fuse and in connected to the positive side of the rh rear battery, not shown. I think this wire supplies 6v to the coach lighting.
  2. The second is equipped with a lug shown in the center of the picture.
  3. The third is the terminal not connected in the picture.
I would appreciate knowing where each of the 3 should be attached.
Thanks,
JVR

Hi JVR,

My assumption is the items in your OP require + 12 VDC. The wires are not for ground.

I do not know your coach, but a general rule to follow is everything requires 12 VDC. With a meter, ensure anything going to the coach is connected to a battery terminal that shows 12 VDC.

If the pink wire was factory installed you can bet there is no "extra" wire. Find a terminal that the wire will reach. Sometimes these are "daughter" connections right off the parent connection.

Pull the black wire wrap back or wire out of split wrap you may see some print on wire to indicate where it goes.
A colored wire most likely goes on battery + battery post.
The pink may change to white if pulled back far enough may be discolored from red battery lug paint.

Thanks for the tips, but I was optimistically thinking someone with a similar coach would look at his connections and report which post each of the 3 small wires are connected.
Thank you for your assistance.

Resolved by Jeff at Newmar
  • The pink wire is actually white and stained by battery post spray, as suggested by 007, the wire's function is simply a ground for the dash radio.
  • The wire on the rear center battery's neg terminal which appears to be a phone cord adapted to a battery lug is a temperature sensor, it is correct. Jeff stated most temp sensors do not have a terminal lug and are stuck on a battery with adhesive.
  • The third wire with the 30A fuse, is as stated 6V power for interior lighting.
I hope posting this resolution saves someone a little trouble in the future.
